End of the Year Thoughts

I always have a hard time deciding if I should do a New Year's Resolution. I have a lot of things that I would like to do differently next year. Get organized, craft more,  blog more, get in shape, do more fun stuff with the kids, be a better wife, get a promotion....
And So on...
So
I will pick 3 things to try to accomplish in 2014.

1. I will do some sort of craft each week. I really miss this part of my world. I enjoy making things and I have SO many unfinished projects in my craft room! I really think I can just use what I have and not have to purchase any supplies at all! Sad.

2. I will get back into my removing 100 things a day from my home that I don't need/use/want. This is so easy to do, only takes minutes a day and it really helps to feel more organized.

3. I will do a fun activity each week with the kids..probably just Stephanie because Zach is getting too "cool" to do stuff! Ahh tweens!

And of course if I am doing all of these things, I may as well blog about them!!!

Hopefully I can keep up with these simple things!

2013 Handmade Gift exchange

I participated in a handmade gift exchange at Craftaholics anonymous this year. I was a bit nervous because although I think I am a great crafter, someone else may not! But it sounded fun and I am so glad I did it. I drew someone who lives in Idaho. She will be receiving her gifts today, so I can't post pics of what I made yet, but I will. I got mine on Friday and I love them! She is really creative! Here is a pic:

Day 2 and Day 3

Well so far so good. Since I was on the drawer cleaning task...

Yesterday I got my 100 items in my underwear drawer! I didn't take any pictures-didn't want to put anyone through that! Not even myself. To be fair I didn't get 100 things from that drawer alone, I also went though my socks. It still surprised me that I had that many "drawers" that I didn't wear anymore. I feel better already!

I thought this would be a a lot harder than it is. It's still early in the game though! 

Today on my lunch break, I went to urgent care for a sore throat that I have had for the past 4 days and of course I have STREP!!! Ugh really? So needless to say, I couldn't go back to work to finish my day today. I was happy in a way, but I don't have any more sick time so my check will be short..my life story.

Anyway, I didn't let this stop me. I went through my jewelry armoire and got 100 braclets, headbands earring, etc to donate to GoodWill. They are already in my car for me to drop off this week sometime!

I am helping with Vacation Bible School this week and working after, so I may not get to my 100 things every day, but I will try my hardest!

Getting Tired of all this Mess !

I know that I have said it before, but this time is going to WILL be different. I will clean my clutter! I am going to get rid of, donate, sell 100 things that I no longer need for 100 days. 
Yikes! That's a lot of stuff, and yes I think I have more than enough crap to get rid of 10,000.00 things and still have stuff left. 

I started this morning with the small drawers that are in my end tables next to my couch and the 2 that are in the coffee table. I have 2 and Jeff has 2. 

I finished in 30 minutes and got 100 things. My drawers are clean! My table drawers of course. ;)

It is amazing to me the crap that was in here and making it difficult to open and close the drawers. 

Some of the things included: paperclips, broken earrings, floss sticks (gross), game coins that are for a place that no longer exists, stretched out headbands and best of all a pocket knife that was hidden in a lipstick case! REALLY, Jenn? Did you think that you were going to hurt someone with that thing? If I were to get mugged right here next to my couch, do you think the mugger would run away when he saw that knife? I think not! 

Well, I need to stay motivated this time. I WILL! 

Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends

Hi There!

Felt a little like spring today with all the rain we had. We got to try Post's Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blend.  It's new! It has the crispy flakes, granola and honey like the other Bunches, but it also has mango flakes and real coconut. Jeff said he thought it tasted a little like air freshener?! I think it was the mango-he's not a big fan. I thought it was flavorful but a little too strong on the mango flavor. I did enjoy the coconut flakes!

Wow, What a Mess!

I have made a decision today. I am going to finally organize our basement playroom/gym area. I have been saying this for about 3 years now and it never seems to happen!

I am going to join in Org Junkie's 31 Day Challenge. There are some really awesome prizes to be won, and even if I don't win-my kids will be much happier in their new clean and organized play space.

Wow. That is all I can say.

I am pretty sure my almost 2 year old doesn't still use that walker. 

  

This side doesn't look so bad, even with the hubby's creepy skeleton lurking there!

 I call her Lola, he doesn't call her anything. Ha!

We have soft closers on all the doors and they  don't  can't even stay closed.

20 Mule Team Borax

I was given the opportunity to review 20 Mule Team Borax on my laundry. I'll admit, I had no idea what this was! Well I was shocked when I tried it. It is a 100% natural laundry detergent booster and odor control.
I used this on some of our clothes and they came out nice and bright!

I thought that Borax was only used to make bouncy balls, but I was wrong! It's great for laundry and to get those stinky work clothes clean. Try it for yourself!

Yesterday I washed Pi's clothes and sheets with Purex Crystals for Baby. This is a new product that will be sold in WalMart stores soon.
